My life-long dream of experiencing life under volcanic fallout is now complete. Today I spent a few hours at the beach whilst ash slowly but surely covered the ground. I kid you not. Even right on the ocean, breeze and all, 90* hot air and debris smothered me. I actually had to shake my blanket off when I left (not due to sand, mind you) and I barely recognized my car.
Normally, upon realizing that it is 50* warmer in SoCal than in the midwest, the next sentence would follow something like, “haha fuckers, have fun freezing in the rain.” However, today my mood was not so jovial and I am currently praying for rain as not to become the next on-location shoot for National Geographic. People of Pompeii, I salute you.
